Here begins the worse part of the journey to a nearby pond. At the point where the road starts to go downhill are stones and roots in the road so be carefull. Our outdoor-bikes made it fine. Infront of Řeřabinec Pond at the information sign, turn right onto a dam.

Behind the pond you will along a dirt road reach an asphalt road and a T-shaped crossroads. Cross the road straight. At the pond Velký Markovec will await you today's worst section of the trip, but good bikes can handle it just fine. You will come to a signpost, where you turn left towards a mound. There were ruts from tractor. Fortunately this nasty stretch was not too long.

Behind a railway crossing join an asphalt road and turn right. On your left hand you will have the pond Markovec u Žižky. You will come to a marked side road leading the mound, where you turn left. Pass a car park and at a crossroads turn left towards the memorial. Then return to the crossroads and go straight to wooden statues representing the Hussite warriors.

This is the place where those arriving in direction of Strakonice join to the route. They will turn left to Štěkeň. You will turn right and go across a river.

In front of the castle, turn right and after a while left in a nice complex. Its an ideal place to sit. Then return to the village square and continue along the main road towards Kestřany.
